An assignment tasked me with creating a business that was based on a viable concept that targeted a consumer’s pain.

The consumer group was graphic design students and recent graduates.

Research was conducted and the results showed that past and current design students felt university didn’t adequately prepare them for after graduation; working on personal projects improved design skills and that they would like to work on personal design projects but were unsure where to start.

The solution I created to target the pain felt by design students and graduates was the Design Deck. A simple tool that utilises cards from different sections being drawn to create a randomised design brief.

This tool helps strengthen design skills by giving users structured projects to work on in their own time.
